EHCP Assessment

Service Description

The assessment can take place at the child's home or school. An education, health and care (EHC) plan is a legal document for children and young people aged up to 25 who need more support than is available through special educational needs support. EHC plans identify educational, health and social needs and set out the additional support to meet those needs. An Occupational Therapy Assessment as part of an EHCP, identifies the occupational engagement and performance of the child or young person and their participation in their life roles. Using standardised assessment, parent and teacher interviews, clinical observations and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the OT assessment can contribute to Section A, B, C, D and E of the EHCP document.
